Six-morning rituals that help parents bond with children
Creating an emotional connection with our children and setting a positive mood for the day is very important. A great way to do this is by establishing a morning ritual that the whole family can participate in. Here are a few ideas to help you and your family bond and create meaningful morning traditions.
Turn on some music
Classical, rock, movie songs, the 90s hits - you can assign days so everyone picks music to their taste. Be prepared to wake up to unusual melodies sometimes, but you will get to know your children’s tastes.
Making breakfast together
Give each family member a role to contribute to the breakfast. Someone can make sure that there are flowers on the table. That way you can use breakfast as a joint activity.
Do a workout together
You don’t always have to do a long set of exercises - just one fun dance for the whole family is enough. Take turns doing the workout. It’s fun and valuable.
Write notes
Put a note with nice words in your child’s portfolio. Draw a heart on the mirror. Attach a kind wish to the refrigerator with a magnet.
Have breakfast without gadgets
Discuss dreams, and plans, wish luck at work and school and remind about the daily routine.
Hug each other goodbye
If teenagers don’t like hugs, you can invent your own gesture or just touch the shoulder and wish them a good day.
