Tips for working parents: How to Balance between work and Parenting without going crazy

Finding a balance between career, household duties, and spending time with their children is hard. Sometimes it’s almost impossible.

Here are some tips to help maintain a warm relationship with your child despite a busy working schedule and daily routine.

Set aside half an hour a day for a conversation

Even 30 minutes is enough to make your child feel important to you. Put away your gadgets and make dinner together, have a cup of tea, or talk about what’s happening during the day. Don’t just ask, share your work stories. Let the child learn more about what her life and work are.

Keep your promises

If you said you would take your child to the playground in the evening, make sure you do it. If you can’t guarantee to take them to the movies on the weekend, don’t promise it. In case something went unplanned, reschedule your joint activity to the nearest time and keep your promise this time.

Don’t try to buy your way out

Buying extra toys could not compensate for your child your attention. It’s better to plan joint weekends and let your child choose leisure activities.

Ask your child for advice

In some matters, children can be wiser than adults. Ask for advice on topics your child is knowledgeable about. You can learn a lot of interesting facts about dinosaurs, programming, or pets.

Read to your children

It’s precious to preschoolers and younger schoolchildren when their mom or dad reads stories about their favorite characters before bedtime. These moments are remembered for life.

Let your child choose

Ask what your child wants to do and let them choose the art class or sports section. Don’t overload them with extracurricular activities. There should be time for rest, games, and communication.

Call your child during the day

You can find time for this during your lunch break or on the way home. Ask how they are feeling and what they would like to do after dinner. Staying in touch will make it easier to cope with separation.

Write notes

For younger children, leave a sticker or label. Add an apple or a candy. For older children, write notes with tasks, kind

Remember, that being a good parent doesn’t mean spending 24/7 time with your children. Hope you find these tips helpful.
